    Description

The Livewell Jaunt Mobility Scooter is perfect for taking away on holiday, fitting into a car boot for trips to the supermarket, or storing around the home. The easy-split system means that the scooter separates into five lightweight parts, the heaviest only weighing 15.9kg. The battery housing easily clicks in and out of place and you can charge this scooter both with the battery fitted or you can leave the scooter in your car boot and take just the battery inside for off board charging.

The comfortable and padded seat swivels and has adjustable armrests that flip up for easy access on and off the scooter. The tiller adjusts forwards and backwards so most users should find a comfortable seated position. Delta bars and wig-wag paddles are fitted which makes operating the scooter convenient and easy for all users especially if you have arthritis.

As this scooter has a great turning circle and adjustable speed control, you will be able to manoeuvre around shopping centres and supermarkets; there is a handy basket to aid shopping, and this can be removed if required. As the transit has a top speed 4mph, it is legal to ride on the pavement and pedestrian precincts, and with reflectors on the side and rear, it is more visible in low lighting conditions, and a horn is fitted for use when required.

  • Questions & Answers

    • Do I need a valid driving license to ride a mobility scooter?

No, you do not need a license to use a mobility scooter however you must be over the age of 14 to use an 8mph mobility scooter as these can be used on public roads. In addition, you are legally required to register an 8mph mobility scooter with the DVLA.

    • Do I need to register this mobility scooter with the DVLA?

Possibly; this is now a UK legal requirement for all 8mph mobility scooters as they can be used on public roads, but not required for 4mph and 6mph mobility scooters. This works much in the same way you tax your car; you will need to apply for a vehicle log book (V5C) but with the big difference of getting it completely free! You can request one through the post by calling the DVLA on 0300 790 6802 (local call rates apply).

    • Does this mobility scooter include a charger?

Yes, all our mobility scooters are supplied with a standard UK plug charger. This will be provided with your ignition keys and user manual, usually found in a protective plastic wallet within the box. To make life easier we can also supply a spare charger to keep in another room or the car; if you’d like to place an order then please give a member of our team a call.

    • How will this mobility scooter be delivered?

All our mobility scooters are delivered in their original packaging that includes strong internal padding to ensure the parts do not move during transit and delivery, and encased in a durable, heavy-duty outer box. Standard courier delivery includes a kerb-side service to your address but not directly to the front door or into the house. This is typical of heavy-goods couriers due to the item weight and is also provided by many other online mobility retailers to provide customers with a quick delivery option for urgent needs.

    • Is this mobility scooter easy to assemble?

Yes and no; this is always a tough one and entirely down to the delivery environment and personal capability. Generally, our smaller 4mph mobility scooters are designed to be lightweight, portable and easy to transport. They are delivered in four manageable pieces that require lifting out of the box separately and assembling together in order. Bear in mind that the heaviest piece can often weigh between 15-20kg (32-44lb) – roughly the weight of a microwave! You don’t need any tools or DIY experience and the entire assembly process can often be completed within 20 minutes by one or two people. Our larger 6mph and 8mph mobility scooters are considerably larger and heavier, often requiring storage within the house or outside shed/garage rather than a car boot. The box will often contain three larger separate pieces as the scooter base does not disassemble unlike smaller portable mobility scooters. The heaviest piece can typically weigh 90-130kg (195-285lb) – the equivalent of four-seater sofa! Whilst you still don’t need any tools or DIY experience, we always recommend getting two people to assemble a large mobility scooter, which can still be completed within 20-30 minutes.

    • What is your professional assembly service?

We love this service and so do our customers! Our professional assembly service includes delivery to your home, into the room of your choice by one or two of our trained engineers, depending on the size of your mobility scooter. Your new mobility scooter will then be assembled, safety-checked and personalised to suit your individual needs. Finally, you will be provided with a hands-on demonstration to help you get to grips with the mobility scooter and ask any specific questions whilst the engineers are there.Unfortunately, we are unable to remove the item’s packaging as this may be required to return your mobility scooter within your returns period. We will call you within 72 hours of completing your order (excluding weekends) to try and arrange a convenient delivery date. We offer our professional assembly service on all mobility scooters to help make life that little bit easier.

    • Can I start using my new mobility scooter straight away?

No, once you have carefully unpacked your mobility scooter, we recommend putting it on charge for a minimum of 12 hours. The scooter will be delivered with a small amount of charge and whilst we know it can be exciting getting a new mobility scooter, a full 12-hour charge cycle will help reduce any potential battery issues in the future – we promise it will be worth it! We recommend using this time to read through your user manual and familiarise yourself with the scooter’s features and how to care for your battery.

    • What happens if my mobility scooter develops a fault?

Get in touch with us as soon as possible – we’re here to help. We know how important your mobility scooter is to you and we’re here to ensure that any potential issues are investigated and resolved quickly to minimise any inconvenience. We have a dedicated team of people who can provide hands-on technical support either over the phone or through email. This process can often alleviate many common faults and gets you back up and running as soon as possible. We will need you to be with the mobility scooter when you contact us and available to talk through some simple diagnostic questions. In more severe cases where the issue cannot be resolved remotely, we can instruct a qualified engineer to investigate the issues and aim to provide a resolution on-site. This is covered in your warranty in line with our return’s conditions, dependent upon the age of the scooter when the issue is raised.

    • How long is the warranty on this mobility scooter?

We provide a 12-month warranty with all our mobility scooters delivered within the UK. In addition to this we also provide a further 12-months on any branded Livewell mobility scooter, a total of 2 years. All our mobility scooter warranties cover the cost of replacement OEM parts, engineer labour time and callout within the initial period in line with our return’s conditions, dependent upon the age of the scooter when the issue is raised.

Three Wheel Design

The Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter comes with a three wheel setup, which is different from the four-wheel mobility scooters you may have seen online. The absence of an extra wheel makes the scooter light and easy to carry around.

The three wheels on this scooter are flat free plastic tires, so you won’t have to worry about an ending up with a flat tire on your way to finish an errand.

You should also know that the tires are specifically designed not to leave any marks whatsoever. Using the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Scooter to ride around your home won’t damage any type of flooring you may have.

Due to the three-wheel design, you want to avoid taking the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter with you when you have to go outside. This is because three wheels aren’t sufficient enough to ensure a stable ride.

In fact, if you do end up riding this scooter over gravel, you’ll have to put up with an uncomfortable ride. You’ll have a better time only using the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter while you’re indoors.

This mobility scooter can travel a maximum speed of 4.25 miles per hour, which further proves why this device would be better suited for indoor use. When we say indoor, you shouldn’t limit to using this solely in your home. You can easily fit it in a car and take it with you when you go shopping.

Insider Thoughts

Buyers love the compact design of the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter since you can truly take it anywhere without a hassle. You can take apart the scooter by splitting it up into five pieces.

Some people practice assembling and disassembling this scooter at home before they have to do it in public. Once you get the hang out it, the process will only take you a matter of minutes.

Keep in mind that in tiny cars, you’ll have a difficult time trying to fit this in.

However, you can readily take this scooter with you on either an airplane or train. Some scooters aren’t allowed on board flights because the battery is deemed too dangerous. Drive Medical went above and beyond to ensure that the battery this product uses is airline approved.

Pros

Cons

  • Runs Slow Speeds

Buyer Advice

Based on positive buyer reviews, the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter is an ideal option if you require an indoor scooter. Since it runs so slowly and has a battery life that runs for as long as nine miles, it wouldn’t be wise to take this with you outside.

Continue reading for some tips regarding the assembly process of the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter.

Tips

When it comes to assembling the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter, you’ll find that the entire process is fairly straightforward. If you have the four-wheel version of the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter already, you can take out the manuals to compare how similar the two are.

This means that you’ll be following the same exact instructions for the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter three-wheeler as you would for the four-wheeler. The mobility scooter comes in five separate parts that you have to connect by adhering to the instructions.

A problem several buyers run into is with unlocking the wheels. Near the front of the scooter, there is a knob that controls this function. Unfortunately, the manual doesn’t alert you to this information, which explains the confusion most buyers experience.

When you find the knob, there will be label informing you as to which way to turn it. By turning it one way, you will be setting the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter in either freewheel or drive.

Once you have this part figured out, the rest will be fairly easy. In fact, a majority of buyers state how effortless their first ride on the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter is.

Maneuvering this mobility scooter is a piece of cake since it comes with an adjustable seat as well as a delta-shaped steering handle. The chair portion of the device comes on a swivel, which doesn’t put a strain on your lower back as you try to get on and off.

Where Can I Buy?

The Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Scooter seems to be one of the more popular Drive Medical scooters in the market because you’ll find it for sale in pharmacies and through online retailers.

There is a lot of knock-offs of this mobility scooter, so you should make sure that the provider that you’re buying the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Scooter from is authorized to sell such a product.

An online retailer that buyers prefer to order the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Scooter is Amazon. Amazon has an impeccable reputation for ensuring the best possible prices for the fastest delivery time possible.

source: drivemedical.com

On Amazon, you can find the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Scooter being sold for less than $700, which is a great deal. Most mobility scooters will cost you several thousand dollars, so this being less than one thousand dollars is rare.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, all your questions have been answered regarding the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter. To make your purchase last as long as possible, you should limit yourself to utilizing this scooter indoors. The outdoor terrain will cause damage that can’t be repaired.

I highly recommend purchasing the Drive Medical Scout Compact Travel Power Mobility Scooter, and it’ll prove to be an excellent investment on your part.
